Example sentence: Nathan worked for years as a roustabout in the oil fields of Alaska until he earned enough money to go to college and become a petroleum engineer.

French

à rebours; /ah-reh-boor/; adverb: backward

French Sentence:Ce matin, les élèves ont appris à compter à rebours de 20 à 0 pour travailler leur mémoire.

English Sentence: This morning the pupils learned to count backward from 20 to 0 to work on their memory.
